Recycle Jars

Yes, again another idea I got from Pinterest

I took my recycled jar and created candle holders and pen holders.

You simply use yard and spray paint and after that get creative .

Here's a few I made:

Recyle for the birds

I saw this on idea on Pinterest (of course)
The birds love it!

Tin Can
Paint
String or wire
Bird Seed
Stick
Hot glue gun

My husband taught me how to use the drill so I am not using wire to hang the feeders up. I have made a total of 5.
I use for the perch sea shells as I have SO many. The birds dont mind.

Painted Rocks

Simple, Fun and they hold down my outside table cloth!

Mommys Famous No Name Cake

This is one of many favorite recipes from my mommy. However, this was a hit growing up as this was only made for Birthdays. My dad loved, loved this cake a lot! Since, he passed I enjoy making this often as it makes me think of him and my kitchen smells like mommy memories.

This is what you need:
1 Box of Chocolate Cake Mix
1 Large Box of Vanilla COOK pudding
2/3 Cup of oil
Chocolate Chips
Pecan halves

Cook vanilla as instructed in a large non stick pot. Once cooked turn off flame. Add cake mix and oil. Mix well.
 Put into a 9x13 pan
Place chocolate chips (don't be greedy) all over top and then add pecan halves.
Bake at 350* for about 45min
Cool and enjoy this delicious cake! You will want to make this again and again!

Homemade Trout Bait

So, I decided to make my own bait about a month ago. Hubby and I headed to a lake up at Mt. Lemmon and it only is stocked with Trout.

This is what I made after viewing many websites.
What you will need:
1/4 c Peantbutter
Velveeta cheese (I bought the small package)
1 cup corn meal
dash a generous amount garlic powder
Squirt or two of syrup (and from what I learned it can be any kind of syrup)
1 cup flour
(in the end I did have to add just a small amount more of cornmeal and flour)

Get a large non stick pot. Fill a little more than half way with water. Start heating it up

Melt your cheese down in a large glass bowl in microwave/I didn't bring mine to a complete runny texture. I just heated if for 45 seconds.
Stir in the above ingredients.
For into medium size balls (like a blow pop size)
Bring water to a boil
Drop a few in at a time and boil for 1-2minutes. Don't put to many in like I did or they clump together.
Place on wax paper and let cool before you store them in a container.

Use a treble hook and have fun catching your trout.

PS
Also to my surprise the crayfish went nuts over my bait. Made hubby happy as he sure did chow down all of what we caught.

Pumpkin Cupcakes

I started to crave pumpkin pie, wait pumpkin anything. So like I always do I turned to Pinterest and found a great pumpkin bread recipe. HA HA HA Didn't turn out. I will try it again as its mainly my fault that it was a flop.
I had left over pumpkin puree so I needed to find something to make.
I came across Pumpkin Cupcakes.
1. Only a few ingredients (very much attracted me)
2. Looked very easy to make

I decided to make mini cupcakes so I could send them to work with my hubby. The guys all love it when I experiment and send goodies in for them to try.

I did change a few things.

Ingredients:
1 box of vanilla moist cake
2 1/4 tsp pumpkin spice
1 cup canned 100% pumpkin puree
1 cup of water

Preheat your oven to 350* and line your tin pan with liners

Combine cake mix, pumpkin spice in a large bowl. Add your pumpkin puree and water. Stir 2-3 minutes
Fill your liners 2/3 full and bake 20 min or until toothpick comes out clean.

While they are cooking prepare your frosting.
8 oz cream cheese
1/2 cup of pureed pumpkin
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp pumpkin spice
5 tbs brown sugar
dash of nutmeg
I love pecans, so I finely chopped a handful and sprinkled on top before I drizzled with syrup)
PS I forgot to take a picture and the drizzle made a nice touch!
mix well and gently spread on cupcakes

When your cupcakes are completely cooled frost (I truly loved without the frosting, melted right in my mouth)
Then I took caramel syrup and drizzled lightly on top of the cakes. YUMMY!!

For the love of Pinterest

I became a huge fan of Pinterest. My husband, neighbors and coworkers all agree! I have tried many recipes out and completed a few crafts. Its not always easy and I make a lot of mistakes. I decided to start blogging my adventures. Maybe I will help others.
